Ham Picatta with a Butter Wine Sauce

Ham Picatta in our house is a regular weekday occurrence. It’s been in our rotation for nearly a decade.

We originally had this simple pasta dish during a kiddo playdate at a friend’s house. My friend made the tasty sauce with the pasta for lunch a couple times and I committed the recipe to memory.

So, much of the recipe is to taste but I’ve written down a great version of it below.

Ham Picatta is perfect for a lunch with guests or a simple dinner as a family. Enjoy it with a glass of white wine and side salad when it’s for dinner or a simple fruit salad during lunch.

Ham Picatta with Butter Wine Sauce

This meal is so easy to whip together. To save even more time sometimes I’ll make the pasta in advance. The butter wine sauce is layers of flavor starting with a sautéed butter, garlic, and onion in a saucepan. Over the course of a few minutes you’ll add wine, broth, capers, and spices. Gently coat the pasta with the butter sauce and voila, you’ve got a light, filling, warm pasta dish that packs a major flavor punch.

Here is another great pasta recipe to check out too! I’ve also compiled many of my favorite weeknight meals here.
