A Farmhouse Style Winter Table
It’s no secret that I love a great seasonal table design as much as the next girl. If I’m being totally honest, I have been dreaming up my winter themed decor and table since a few weeks before Christmas. Cue all the cozy neutrals and subtle pops of green.
Every time I transition my seasonal decor I start with one area or a mood board. Usually I start my decor switch up with my table. I spend a few weeks drawing inspiration from Pinterest and my favorite Instagram accounts then dive in as soon as the season is upon us!

A Decor Mood Board
After I build my mood/vision board and plan, I shop the house and see if I need to start looking for deals. I often set a budget and try to find ways I can use what I already own to achieve the look I want. To begin, I’ll set up all of the decor I already own then make a list of what I need to purchase.
With every new season I attempt to stretch my creativity, try new things, and become stronger as a designer. I love being inspired by such a powerful community on Instagram and Pinterest.
My Table Design
To start off I built a neutral foundation. Layering cream colored burlap and knit. I began with two table runners. Then I strategically placed my largest elements of galvanized elements down the middle of the entire vignette.
Inside of the galvanized tray I decided to place my tapered candle holders so I could add height to my tablescape.
After, my small pieces were strategically placed throughout the entire table runner, just here and there until I felt like they were balanced.
Finally, with dried eucalyptus, I placed stems throughout the table. While placing these last elements I walked around the entire table to make sure it was balanced. Everything should flow from one end of the table to the other. With tablescapes and vignette decorating I try to create a journey for the viewer from side to side and top to bottom.
Build Your Own Winter Decor and Table
Creating a winter table is one of my favorite things to do for the house in January. I love welcoming the New Year with open arms and fresh design. I was able to find similar elements online for anyone looking to create a design or tablescape in their home like this one. Instead of pinecones I found small sparrows. My galvanized house figurines are from Hobby Lobby, I couldn’t find them online, so you might have to check your local store. In the meantime here are some other shoppable links for ya!
