Coffee Bar In Our Modern Cabin

Our coffee bar has become one of my favorite little spots in our cabin. A couple years ago I decided to dress up the area where our coffee machine is and it was so much fun! Now every season I style the coffee bar with happy reminders of upcoming holidays or what is budding in nature.

A few weeks ago we invested in a new coffee machine (since the old one broke) and it was time to also get a new surface for the space. So let me give you a little tour of one of the happiest spots in our cabin! You can take a quick virtual tour here with this reel I created for Instagram.

A New Machine

We’ve been Keurig coffee users for years but after our third machine from the brand broke we decided to go in a new direction. We sure love coffee so it was time to embrace a more gourmet experience and machine. We took the plunge and bought a Nespresso VirtuoPlus. The bundle we bought also came with an Aeroccino.

In addition we got a new drip coffee maker for my husband who loves a good classic drip coffee in the morning. We bought a Cuisinart with a thermal carafe.

Both machines are relatively slim and take up about the same amount of space as our old Keurig Duo.

A Coffee Station Surface

We also chose to upgrade our old snug kitchen cart to accommodate the new machines and mug tray.

This mobile countertop was a synch to put together and I love the additional open storage it provides. It works perfectly nestled right under the window right next to the fireplace.

Mug Tray and Mugs

Now for the practical elements. Every coffee bar needs quick access to coffee mugs and a spoon or two. I love using a simple mug tray for our coffee mugs. We switch out the mugs as our mood changes. Our current favorites include this springy one, this mountainy one, this inspiring one and this classic.

Decor

Now for the fun part! The linens and seasonal decor for the coffee bar change every few months. I’m excited that for spring this year I’m able to feature two beautiful small shops for my coffee bar decor.

Before we get into that though let me tell you what I always try to include. I like to have some linens of some sort out on the coffee bar. A table runner or placemat go a long way to add depth and texture as well as provide practical protection to the counter when the inevitable drip or spill occurs. A tea towel or small hand towel are also nice. I like to have spoon rest or cup for a stirring spoon to sit in. Some simple greenery or florals continues to add a pop of color and more texture. Lastly, I always include a very seasonal element or two that nudge us toward nature and perhaps an upcoming holiday (see below).

Spring Coffee Bar Decor

The two small businesses I’m excited to feature this season are, Ruffled Nest Decor and Blue Bonnet Home Boutique.

Ruffled Nest Decor’s handmade items are unique, one of a kind, and always elevate any vignette. The Green Aqua Bead Strand paired with the Fence Wood Benjamin Bunny are the perfect, rustic nudge toward spring.

Michelle at Blue Bonnet Home Boutique carries beautiful, sustainable, yet stylish, home decor items that also provide natural rustic minimalism. It works perfectly in our cabin! I love using this table runner, small serving board, and Eucalyptus Flour Sack Tea Towel.

The items from these small businesses work together perfectly to add the right amount of springtime cheer in this happy spot.

Every home should have a small space or two that brings joy and a smile when you step near it. For us, it’s the sunlight, views, and the warmth of the coffee we drink right next to the cozy fireplace. It all works together beautifully and we love it!

With hope for you and your intentional home,
